How to use Texmod
In this page, we show how to use Texmod. C taught me some of them, and I searched some in the Internet. This method is for retail version of TDU2, not for Steam version.
Download tools required, Texmod and TDU2 Universal Launcher.
Texmod: http://tduforums.com/thread-2280.html
TDU2 Universal Launcher: http://i-knyazev.ru/tdu2_files
Make directories anywhere you like, and decompress the files downloaded.
Run TDU2.
Change car to that you need, and go to a sticker shop.
Stretch and smear away sticker in the whole car by a color to make into basic color. It is useless if the whole is colored with paint. Just use stickers.
It will become convenient if you draw a thin straight line from the front grille of the car, through the bonnet, the roof, and the rear, to the rear bumper. You should draw the line in the position shifted from the symmetry plane of the car. This is because the direction of The front grille or the rear in the entire texture may differ from that of the roof. Seeing the line, you can check the direction of them.
Ensure the sticker painted by clicking 'Validate and pay' and go out from the sticker shop.
Enter the sticker shop again, and terminate TDU2 in the state.
Run "TDU2 Universal Launcher".
Click 'Settings' button and select the install directory of TestDrive2.exe in 'Select the TDU2 folder'.
Example: C:\Program Files\Atari\TDU2
Click 'Save' and 'Close'.
Check 'Online' in 'Please, select the game mode'.
Click 'Run Game!' button to run TDU2.
Terminate TDU2 by Alt + F4. Keep 'TDU2 Universal Launcher' running.
Run 'Texmod'.
Select TestDrive2.exe in the install directory at 'Target Application'.
Example: C:\Program Files\Atari\TDU2\TestDrive2.exe
Click 'Logging Mode'.
Select 'Output Format' which you want, for example 'PNG'.
Select a key in 'Log with'. By pressing the key when you are playing TDU2, you can save a texture and its infomation, or definition, to your PC, You should sellect a key which you don't use in TDU2. For example, 'F1'.
Select a directory where you save a texture and its infomation, in 'Output Folder'.
Click 'Run' to start TDU2.
If you see information about texture at the upper left of the window of TDU2, 'Texmod' is successfully running in the 'Logging Mode' mode.
You can use the numberpad + or - keys to view the current textures held in memory. Find an image 1024x1024, which contains an entire texture of the exterior of a car.
If you have found the texture, press the key that you selected at 'Log with' in 'Texmod' to save it, for example 'F1'. You can save the texture and definition file for build 'Texmod.log' to your PC.
Close TDU2.
Open texture image 1024x1024 file with photoshop or whatever application you use, and make a new image.
Open and check the definition file. By default, this file is saved with the name 'Texmod.log'. You can get the names of the directory and the file which you should replace.
Move or copy the texture image that you have made, to the directory which you have checked above. Change the name of that to the one that you have found in the definition file.
Run 'Texmod'.
Click 'Package Build'.
Select 'Definition File'. For example, 'Texmod.log'.
Click 'Build'.
Enter a name of a package file where you want to save. Give the package a useful name so you know what it is. For example, 'mystickers.tpf'. Make sure you are saving it in the texmod folder (not the out folder).
